24 - The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath Part 1

We're now into the swing of the weekly episodes, to really kick this off I start presenting a book length story by H.P. Lovecraft, "The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath". This being a full length story, in this episode I only present part 1, the remaining parts will be coming in subsequent weeks, but not in a contiguous stream, there will be other stories intermingled.

For the history segment I present a brief insight into the popular Crossley cars of the war years and the 20's.

The music is "Prisoners Song" by Kaplans Melodists, a 1925 number.

Finally of course I present the main feature "The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath" by H.P. Lovecraft and read by Maureen O'Brien.

I've had a couple of stories sent in, but can always do with more, so if you've written a story suitable for the show, please get in touch. If you have any questions, then please send me an email or post your question on the forums ( link on the left ).

23 - The Ebony Frame

After a long long wait for ep22, and then only a week later the Cthulhu show returns!

This week we're back on format with history, music and a story.

The history segment is short bio of the first woman in the US senate "Rebecca Latimer Felton", which happened in the 1920's!. The text of her book "Country Life in Georgia in the Days of My Youth" a biography of sorts is available online.

Then we have a piece of music from Ted Lewis and his orchestra called "I've found a new baby" from 1926.

The story for this episode is called "The Ebony Frame" by E. Nesbit and is read for us by Cori Samuel. Not a Cthulhu Mythos story, more ghostly, but heck, I enjoyed it and I hope you do too.

Oh(!), and before I forget, I have just set up a forum for discussing the show and related topics. The link to it is over there on the left <--- please drop by and feel free to start chatting.

22 - The Beast in the Cave

Well here is episode 22 at last. In this special episode there is no history, no period music. Instead I present an audio dramatisation of H.P. Lovecraft's classic short story "The Beast in the Cave".

The Credits:

The Man in the Cave is played by Glen Hallstrom. Find more Glen over at Librivox.

The Guide is played by Richard Shaw of the "Cat and Cthulhu" show. If you havn't checked out this show yet, do yourself a favour and get over there.

The music has been written and performed by Justin Burt, check out his wonderful Alternative Names site.

I hope you enjoy the show, send me an email and let me know if there is another of H.P. Lovecraft's short stories you'd like to hear given this treatment.

Upcoming Episode - 2

Phew! After three hours of sound effects editing I've finally finished the tough bit. I've only got to add the music and credits to complete this mini drama, then of course, top and tail the podcast. So with luck I'll be posting the new episode tomorrow.

It's been a long time but hopefully the wait will be worth it.

I'm off to bed. :)

Upcoming Episode

I'm editing together the next episode. It'll take a while as it's another Cthulhu Podcast exclusive dramatic presentation of a short Lovecraft piece.

Keep checking the feed, I hope to drop the show within the week.
